Lost and alone, a girl did roam,
Until she found a flower garden home,
Its tranquility brought her peace,
As her troubles began to release.
Each bloom a vibrant, colourful hue,
She found joy in the garden's view,
Its simplicity and beauty so pure,
Brought her solace, of that she was sure.
In the garden, she found new delight,
An appreciation for life's minutiae in sight,
And with each passing hour,
Her heart began to flower.
Behind-the-scenes of Heart's Garden
The inspiration for this photoshoot was drawn from the South Korean artist Park Jisoo's song 'Flower'. Titled 'Heart's Garden', the series was conceptualised with the belief of discovering your inner bloom. It is hence centered on the idea of self-love and how it plays a pivotal role in fostering/discovering your inner flaws.
The theme that surrounds the series are the vibrant colours and intricate details of the flowers which lend a certain charm and whimsy to the photos — creating an ethereal and magical atmosphere.
I thoroughly enjoyed sourcing for props and creating my most prized-possession art piece (heh) from the shoot; the flower jacket.
Despite the challenges encountered while shooting the series alone, I embraced the opportunity to work independently and discovered the joys of it. The end result is a stunning visual treat that not only captures the splendour of nature but also the beauty of one's heart.
